US Banking SectorQ2 Profit Down 

Mixed fortunes for the US banking sector. The largest financial services company in the United States, Citigroup, has reported a 13% increase in its second quarter operating profits. While other banks have been hit by the slowing US economy and stock market slump, Citigroup has seen profits rise helped by its consumer banking operations. For the number three bank, Bank of America, has been hit by an increasing amount of bad loans. Its second quarter profit fell nearly two percent.
