Victims try to salvage any small remnants of their homes
Victims comb the rubble of their homes to salvage small remnants

On 28 April 2008, several powerful tornadoes hit the southeast region of the state of Virginia, injuring some 200 people and causing millions of dollars in damages.  VOA producer Zulima Palacio traveled to the town of Suffolk where most of the damage occurred, and prepared a story on how victims work to recover with the aid of volunteers.
