The Boston Beer Company started in 1985 with Koch's Samuel Adams Boston Lager, a beer brewed using his great-great grandfather's recipe dating back to the 1860s.

The Boston Beer Company is best known for its award winning Samuel Adams beers. Since 2000, Samuel Adams has won more awards in international beer tasting competitions than any other brewery in the world.
