悉尼在奥运开幕前夕进入高潮

奥运已经开幕了！面对这一连串的活动，悉尼市民以及数以百万计的游客的确是再兴奋不过了，因为有幸可以参加千禧年的奥运，相信是许多人的梦想。其实早在奥运开幕之前，澳洲民众的心情就已经开始沸腾，各种庆祝活动都全数出笼，一位澳洲民众就在开幕之前如此表示：

"It's a happy, vibrant atmosphere, I suppose you could say, and peaceful, which is the way it should be.(1) I was really ambivalent about the Games until the last week.(2) I'm really enjoying the atmosphere tonight.(3)".

「我想你可以说这是一种既快乐又令人振奋，再加上一点详和的感觉，而现在的气氛本来就该如此；原本我一直对悉尼市举办奥运感到有些矛盾，直到上个星期才有比较好的感觉；真的很高兴能在今晚沉醉在这种气氛中。」

上面这段访问中，只有(1)句属于句型比较复杂的倒装型态，基本上(1)句中的I suppose you could say原本应该是放在句首，然而这位受访者却将它放在中间，所以我们才会看到这么多的逗号穿插在其中，至于(1)句中which所引导的子句，则是用来形容前面的atmosphere，这种用法很令人吃惊吧，怎么用来修饰单字的子句，会和它要修饰的字离那么远呢？其实这也不难，只要你能分辨得出来，要看懂这句话就一点问题都没有了。

全球的体坛盛事，除了奥林匹克运动会（Olympic Summer Games）之外，还有就是也是每四年举办一次的世界杯足球赛（World Cup），和冬季奥运会（Olympic Winter Games）；当然体育界也不是只有每四年才庆祝一次，相信爱好体育的人士平常也一定知道有那些值得注意的体坛消息！：）

Wen Ho Lee to plead guilty on one count of mishandling classified information

李文和承认不当处理机密资料

Two government sources familiar with the Wen Ho Lee case say the former US government scientist will plead guilty on Monday to one felony count of mishandling classified information and then be freed. The sources tell CNN that Lee has agreed to cooperate with the Justice Department and will tell them what happened to a number of missing computer tapes which held classified information about nuclear weapons design. The sources also said there is no evidence of espionage .

两名熟悉此案的消息来源透露，李文和将在周一承认不当处理机密资料的罪名，以换取保释李文和也将告知司法部数个存有核武设计资料的计算机胶卷的去向，这两名人士表示，截至目前为止，司法部都没有掌握李文和犯下间谍罪的证据 。
