★ power failure的意思是「停电」，cf. heart failure「心脏病」。
★ That's great!「这下可好了！」这句话字面上虽然像是在叫好，其实有些场合却带有「恼火、不快」的反讽味道。谈话中往往会用上故意讲反面话的技巧，请特别注意。
★ nuisance指「麻烦或令人讨厌之物」，也可用于指人，如Don't make a nuisance of yourself.
「不要惹人生厌。」Cockroaches are a nuisance.「蟑螂实在讨厌。」谈人时也有He is a
pain in the neck [ass].「他真是个讨厌的家伙。」的说法(用ass较不雅)。
