Kevin: OK. Tear yourself away from the TV and meet me in the U-District.
David: OK, OK. But you know, I wouldn't do this for just anyone.
Kevin: Ha-ha. I feel so special now.
David: How are you getting there?
Kevin: I'll take the bus.
David: Good. I can finish watching the game.
Kevin: Don't take too long. I hate waiting around for you.
David: You think I'd keep my favorite Taiwanese friend waiting?
Kevin: You'd keep the Queen of England waiting.

★ U-District
★ Queen of England 英国女王。

For the citizens of modern-day Mongolia, Genghis Khan is a folk hero and a symbol of their emerging democracy. A main street in the capital of Ulan Bator has been named after him, and his image is on a banknote. He even has a brand of vodka named after him, not an unusual memorial for one of history's greatest conquerors. Perhaps Genghis Khan would appreciate this more than his traditional reputation as a ruthless killer.

How does it taste?

如果很好吃,可回答说:It tastes good.或It's tasty.(很美味)。

Candice: I made this spaghetti dish myself. How does it taste?
Rita: Hmm…interesting. It could do with a little salt.
Candice: I'm insulted. Each spice and condiment was added precisely to give it a distinctive flavor. This dish doesn't need salt.
Rita: You're right, the dish doesn't need salt. But this shoelace I found inside it does.
Candice: I wondered where that went to. Sorry, sorry.

坎迪斯煮了些意大利面,问莉达How does it taste?(味道怎样?) Hmm...interesting. It could do with a little salt。

Do with在can或could之后,有‘需要’、‘有就好了’的意思,一般会说could do with,很少说can,例如:(1) I could do with a good night's sleep(我要好好睡一觉)。(2) The car could do with a new windshield(这辆汽车须换上新的挡风玻璃)。

Do with的反义词是do without,即‘不需要’或‘用不着’,一般和can/could、have to/had to连用,例如:(1) No living things can do without water(任何生物都不可以没有水)。(2) We had to do without many daily necessities during the war(战时,我们很多日用品都没有,只能将就点)。Can't / couldn't do without即‘不可没有’,例如:We can't do without her(我们不可以没有她)。

问食物味道如何,英文可以说:How does it taste? 或 What's it like ? It's good、It's delicious等。 It's absolutely yummy即‘美味极了’。要说食物味道有点奇怪,除了像莉达那样说It's interesting,还可以说:It tastes funny / strange/weird。
